Creating Characters

Digital sculpting, also known as Sculpt Modeling or 3D Sculpting, is the use of software that offers tools to push, pull, smooth, grab, pinch or otherwise manipulate a digital object as if it were made of a real-life substance such as clay.

That's how we create characters for the game!

Motion capture

Hello guys!

This is the animation technique called motion capture. There is an actor wearing a particular outfit coupled with several sensors and cameras around him to capture his movements. The data are transferred to the computer and then applied to the character for him to get animated!

In this video, the animations were made to animate Kiatto, the panda warrior who is the main character of the game. Soon we will post a video showing the animated Kiatto.

About the blog

Welcome to the development blog of Kiatto, a new platform/adventure game! Here we will post screenshots, art and gameplay videos!

About the game

The story  is based on the chinese legend of Monkey King. One day he realizes that his holy medallion has disappeared and that is the reason animals are strange. Someone is using the power of the medallion to dispose all animals against him. This is your start point, you are Kiatto, a warrior panda, and you have to go through all levels to find out who stole the holy medallion and defeat them to recover it and restore the order on the kingdom. But be careful, along the way you will find lots of challenges: obstacles, puzzles, enemies and bosses! The game has 5 different worlds, each world has 5 amazing levels and one boss!

We haven't told you everything. The rest of the story you will have to play the game to find out!

About the team

The leader developers are Deivid Reis and Felipe Loque. On the next posts we will introduce the whole team, which has right now 6 people! When ready, the game will be published by FBF Sistemas, a game developer company established in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

About the target platforms

The game will be first published for mobile: iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone. After that, we intend to improve the game even more to publish for Windows and Mac!
